Local Projects (2024–2025)
We’re committed to supporting youth, families, and community well-being in Edmonton.
Brightview School (NW Edmonton)
Annual BBQ and holiday dinner, plus support for families in need.
Jasper Place High School
Rotary Youth Leadership camps (RYLE & RYPEN) for ages 15–18
$1,000 Community Service Award presented annually to a Grade 12 student.
Santa YEG
Covering merchant fees so donations go further in supporting families during the holidays.
Equity & Inclusion Projects
Supporting accessibility innovations, employment partnerships, and community inclusion.
Disability Edmonton
Impact Challenge winner. $5000 will be allocated to Disability Edmonton. A nonprofit initiative dedicated to establishing a central platform for Edmonton's disability community. Their goal is to create a one-stop hub where individuals can find information on events, social groups, programs, and more.
International Projects (2024–2025)
Rotary is global, and so are we. Our club partners with trusted organizations around the world to improve health, expand education, and create opportunities for sustainable growth.
Supporting Education
HEAL International – Uganda
HEAL International sponsorship program provides education to children who may not have the opportunity to attend school and places them on a path towards a brighter future.
Project Amigo – Mexico
Project Amigo provides scholarships, educational materials, and mentorship to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in rural Mexico. Our multi-year commitment ensures consistent support for students pursuing education.
Worldwide Education Fund (WEF) – Pakistan
WEF provides educational opportunities for marginalized youth, especially girls, in Pakistan. Our funding contributes to school fees, supplies, and teacher support to break cycles of poverty.
Burundi English School
This grassroots initiative supports English-language learning in Burundi, helping students expand future opportunities in education and employment.
Medical & Health Initiatives
Mercy Ships – Africa
Mercy Ships operates hospital ships providing free surgeries and healthcare in West and Central Africa. Our contribution supports medical staff, training, and life-saving surgeries for people without access to healthcare.
Misión Claridad – Ecuador
This initiative organizes cataract and eye surgeries for low-income patients in Ecuador. Our funding helps cover surgical supplies, patient care, and local partnerships to restore sight.
Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS) – Kenya & Tanzania
CNIS trains surgeons and medical professionals in low-resource countries, with a focus on trauma care, maternal health, and safe surgical practices. Our support helps expand training and education in East Africa.
PolioPlus – Global – Annual support
Rotary International’s flagship global initiative to eradicate polio. Working with the WHO, UNICEF, and the Gates Foundation, PolioPlus provides vaccines, education, and outreach to end polio worldwide.
Business & Other Ways to Help: Providing clean water; growing local economies
KIVA Microloans – Global
KIVA provides small loans to entrepreneurs around the world. Our contribution helps fund women-led businesses, farmers, and artisans, empowering families to build sustainable livelihoods.
Lead with Seeds – Honduras
This program focuses on agricultural training, community health, and youth leadership. Our support helps fund sustainable farming projects that improve food security and nutrition.
Buski-Lakhani Travel Bursaries – International Youth Brigades
We are proud to support young leaders in developing their skills while learning about and assisting communities in resource deprived areas of the world through our Buski-Lakhani Travel Bursaries. Students in universities and colleges in the city of Edmonton, Alberta can apply for one of several travel bursaries to assist in completing a project related to their area of studies.
The bursaries are named in honor of two Rotarians who exemplify the Rotary motto ‘Service above Self’. Dr. Julius Buski is an educator, past President of the Rotary Club of
Edmonton Mayfield and past District Governor. Dr. Zaheer Lakhani is a distinguished cardiologist, a Member of the Order of Canada and recipient of the prestigious Rotary International ‘Service above Self’ award.
ICChange – Global Health Research & Community Impact
ICChange is a Canadian initiative that partners with communities abroad to deliver innovative health and development solutions. We support their work through event funding and Rotary collaboration.
