The Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield is thrilled to announce the winner of our very first Rotary Impact Challenge: Disability Edmonton!
About the Challenge
The Rotary Impact Challenge was launched with a vision to empower Edmonton's community members to be the architects of positive change. This unique initiative invited residents to submit their innovative ideas for projects that would enhance our local community, aligning with Rotary's core focus areas—fostering peace, advancing education, promoting environmental sustainability, and more.
Over the past few months, we received numerous submissions from passionate change-makers eager to make a difference. After a rigorous selection process, three outstanding projects were chosen as finalists, each showcasing their potential to create a lasting impact in our city. These projects were then put to a public vote across our social media platforms, where community members had the opportunity to choose their favourite.
The Winner

Disability Edmonton emerged as the People's Choice Award winner, selected by public vote. This inspiring nonprofit initiative is dedicated to establishing a central platform for Edmonton's disability community. Their project aims to create a one-stop hub where individuals can access information on events, social groups, programs, and more. By bridging the gap in accessibility and communication, Disability Edmonton empowers the community to stay informed, connected, and engaged.
What is Next?
We are incredibly excited to support Disability Edmonton in bringing their vision to life. The Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield will provide financial backing, access to professional and community resources, and the expertise of our dedicated project planning team. Together, we will work to ensure that this initiative makes a meaningful and lasting impact on Edmonton's disability community.
A heartfelt thank you to all the participants and finalists for their incredible contributions. Your ideas and efforts have truly been inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive changes they will bring to our community.
Stay tuned for updates as we work alongside Disability Edmonton to make this project a reality. 🙌
