At our meeting on February 1, we were pleased to present Bruce and Janet Anderson from Leads with Seeds Society with a cheque for $18,250 representing their 2022 major fundraising event and a $2,000 contribution from our Club. Leads with Seeds is one of our primary international projects addressing poverty in central Honduras. We are thrilled to support this organization financially and through our charitable society. Lead with Seeds partners with the Municipality of Santa Rita, The District School Division, the Department of Forestry and Rotary Clubs of Edmonton Mayfield and El Progreso (Honduras).
We also approved the following project funding:
Jasper Place High School 'Service above Self' Award for 2022-23 of $1000
Establishment of an endowment fund with Edmonton Community Foundation with an initial deposit of $15,000
Buski-Lakhani International Travel Bursaries not to exceed $13,500, subject to approval by the International Services Committee
Vulnerable Persons Records Checks
Rotary District 5370 requires that Rotarians have a valid certification letter from the District Office before participating in an event, program or interaction with vulnerable persons, including youth and persons with disabilities. Many of our member records have expired or are due to expire this year. If you do not have a current VPRC on record with the District Office and need assistance, contact Derek Jay.
