Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5th. We are excited to host Dr. Abdullah Saleh, a pediatric surgeon and founder of ICChange, an organization that empowers communities by providing ceramic water filters, high-efficiency stoves, and other life-changing solutions to people in need.
ICChange tackles the root causes of complex global challenges by designing transformative, scalable systems that create lasting impact. Using the proven frameworks of The Renaissance Way and Challenge Dialogue System, they foster collaboration and innovation, ensuring solutions are locally owned, adaptable, and promote sustainable well-being and resilience.

Last Meeting Recap
During our last meeting, we hosted Dr. David Evans from the Dept. of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta who talked about virus eradication and polio eradication.
Lorne did an excellent job chairing our meeting!
Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Foundation is a registered charity that transforms our donations into service projects that change lives both in our communities and globally. As part of your annual dues for the Edmonton Mayfield Rotary Club, you included a $40 donation to the Rotary Foundation for which you will receive a tax receipt. This money is spent on life-changing sustainable grants, as well as programs and services that support our transformative work.
Our Rotary club’s goal for 2024-25 is to contribute $2400 towards the eradication of polio through Polio Plus. As an incentive for our members to increase their individual contribution amount to the Rotary Foundation, our club will match the first $200 Canadian (minimum) donation and you will receive a tax receipt for the full $200. As you have already contributed $40, you would need to contribute another
$160 to qualify. Your individual donations must total at least $200 to receive our match. Our club then donates these funds to Polio Plus and you receive the tax receipt.
If you are able to increase your donations to qualify for this match, please donate by June 1st through the Rotary website so that I can submit the paperwork before the end of the Rotary year which is June 30th. If you have any questions, please contact me at lindapincock@gmail.com.
Thank you for your generous support of Rotary!
Linda Pincock, Foundation Chairperson
