Linda, Jeanette and Maureen have returned from the International Convention 2023 held in Melbourne, Australia. Connections were made and ideas are percolating. We will report more at the changeover and at Linda's Presidential Address on July 5.
Our presenter on May 17 was Louise Colonnier from Days for Girls Edmonton who gave an informative presentation on their goal to reduce Period Poverty. Lead with Seeds Society, based in Edmonton, is a registered non-profit society in Honduras. They collaborate with our club and the El Progreso Rotary Club in Honduras, and other non-profits to support development initiatives in Honduras. One of their partnerships is with the Barrio school, which incorporates computer-assisted learning and agricultural resources into the Honduran junior high curriculum. Lead with Seeds focuses on providing education for rural Honduran youth and adults, with an emphasis on schooling and sustainable agroforestry practices.
They are currently preparing to ship supplies to Honduras in the last week of June, with a collection deadline of June 15-18. As the students at the Barrio school lack internet access, the organization is seeking 50 laptops that meet specific hardware requirements to integrate into the school's learning environment.
If you have any equipment you wish to donate, contact Abdul.
Our Virtual Coffee Meeting will be held June 10. Zoom login for the meeting is Meeting ID 780 222 3440 Passcode Mayfield.
Don't Miss Out on the Changeover Dinner, which has been set for Monday June 12th at the U of A Club. To purchase your tickets, click here. The deadline for ticket purchases is June 7th.

And a reminder that we are scheduled to work at Starlight Casino on July 16 and 17. Jeanette is still looking for just a few volunteers. If you haven't signed up yet, contact Jeanette.
Communications Update
How can we tell our story? The communications team is working on a plan but we need your help. If you are working on a project or event or if you want to share your Rotary journey with others, we want to hear about it. And if you attend an event, take pictures or videos and send to RCEMstories@gmail.com. We will use these for social media and bulletin posts.
Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship.
We invite you to join us at an upcoming meeting.
