Access to clean water and sanitation can significantly improve people's lives. When communities have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, leading to improved health for children and better school attendance rates. Mothers also have more time to spend with their families rather than carrying water.
Rotary helps make this possible through its Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs. Rotary mobilizes resources, form partnerships, and invest in infrastructure and training that yield long-term change.
Our Successes:
On February 15th we heard from Dr Ron Lett, Canadian Network for International Surgery, about the Trauma Team Training they conducted in Kenya with support from our club.
Since its inception in 1995, CNIS training has benefited more than 60,000 African Health Care Professionals.
Club Update:
Our meeting March 1 will be a business meeting. Topics for discussion will include fundraising options; possibly Fork It Over or other events. Please consider what you would like to see and what you could contribute with.
