Fork it Over is a month away and we need your help!
Our annual fundraiser is just a month away. We've only sold 40 tickets and collected 9 bottles of wine. We need your support to ensure success.

Last Meeting
On April 17th, we hosted Paul Dusseault who talked about Misión Claridad (Mission Clarity). This is a Rotary Club of Edmonton Riverview cataract surgery and optometry mission that goes to Ecuador providing free cataract surgery and eye exams and eyeglasses. There have been two missions so far, the first in September 2022, followed by a second in October 2023. The team had performed 236 cataract surgeries, over 600 people have had eye examinations and 350 eyeglasses have been distributed.
No Business Meeting this week, but let's have supper!
This week, we won't have a business meeting due to the District Conference on May 3rd and May 4th.
For RCEM members not attending the Mayfield Dinner Theatre on Friday night, please join us for an amazing smoked meat supper at the Blue Truck BBQ restaurant adjacent to Princess Auto near the Double Tree. Reservations will be for 5:00 PM. Please confirm with Jeanette at jeanette@centennial.ca if you wish to attend.
Membership Updates
So proud to share that we were recognized by our district for welcoming 3 new members in March - we received the District's SPONSORING STAR!

The Integrity Awards will take place on May 15th, and our Club is honoured to present Jason Gregor as Integrity Award Recipient. He also supports graduating high school students through Gregor's Grads Program and awards an annual bursary to NAIT students. His collaboration with the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield has provided over $30,000 in funds to support children in need at Brightview Elementary School.
Youth Speaker
On May 15th, Sophia Fairweather, who is fifteen years old, will speak about becoming a serial entrepreneur and property owner. Also, she will share some of her most recent endeavors. Now, she speaks to colleges, schools, and economic development organizations in places like Calgary for Alberta Innovates.
Self-Care Corner
Getting outside and soaking up some sunshine can do wonders for both our mental and physical well-being. Sunlight exposure helps regulate our circadian rhythms, which can improve our sleep patterns and overall mood. Additionally, sunlight stimulates the production of vitamin D in our bodies, which is essential for bone health and immune function. Just a 20-minute walk in the sunshine can uplift your spirits and leave you feeling refreshed and energized. So, why not take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoy some time outdoors? Your mind and body will thank you for it! ☀️🚶♂️🌳
How can we tell our story?
If you are working on a project or event or if you want to share your Rotary journey with others, we want to hear about it. And if you attend an event, take pictures or videos and send them to Victoria. We will use these for social media and bulletin posts.
Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship.
We invite you to join us at an upcoming meeting.
