At the District Conference on April 22, we were delighted to receive the Governor's Award for our work in East Africa. Congratulations team!
Prior to that, at our club meeting on April 19, we heard from Maliha Saraf, who received the club Service above Self Award at Jasper Place High School. Maliha is now studying at the U of A in the business program.
The club also passed the following motions:
1. To engage Gayle Head to assist with event planning and implementation for Fork It Over.
2. To allocate $4000 from the International Services budget to pay for the cost of a temporary generator at Ride 4 A Women.
3. To donate $1000 to Days for Girls to purchase supplies for the reusable menstrual pads being manufactured.
4. To donate $1000 to the Coronation School Parents' Council for the purchase of sporting equipment.
Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be held at Chateau Nova Yellowhead, in the 2nd Fl boardroom, and by Zoom. Our speaker for this meeting will be Ingrid Neitsch who will speak on being a Positive Peace Club.
