As we step into 2025, we want to thank each of you for your incredible support and dedication throughout 2024. Together, we’ve achieved so much—supporting impactful projects both within our community and around the world, and welcoming new members to our Rotary family. Your commitment has been the driving force behind all we’ve accomplished.

In 2025, let’s continue working together to create meaningful change and make the world a better place. With your passion and dedication, we can achieve even greater things and inspire hope in those who need it most.

Next Meeting 

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th at Chateau Nova Yellowhead.  We're thrilled to welcome Marie-Laure Polydore or Either Hussam Tungekar, who will join the session in person.  

Futurpreneur is a national, non-profit organization that provides collateral-free financing, mentorship and resources to diverse young entrepreneurs, aged 18-39, looking to start or grow their business in Canada. With a mandate to help young entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life, Futurpreneur provides bilingual (English and French) support and resources to help business owners start and succeed. Founded in 1996, the organization was established to promote entrepreneurship among Canadian youth as a critical pillar for diversifying the economy, generating employment opportunities, and fostering a sustainable future. Since then, Futurpreneur has supported more than 18,900 diverse young entrepreneurs launch small and growing businesses across Canada.

Past Events 

Annual Holiday Lunch at Brightview School

On December 18th, we had the privilege of sharing a Christmas lunch with the students and staff at Brightview School. It was a truly special day filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of the holiday spirit—a perfect reminder of the true meaning of this season! 

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with these amazing students, the heartfelt letters they shared with us, and the incredible support from our Rotary members and volunteers.

Christmass with the Jasper Place High School Interact Club.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jen Liviniuk and The Sold Sisters Group for representing our club and for their generous support giving back to our community alongside the Jasper Place High School Interact Club.

Together, they facilitated the fundraising and collection of 15 hampers, which were hand-delivered to families in need last Christmas. Their dedication and kindness made a meaningful difference in brightening the holiday season for those who needed it most.

Fundraising Proposal. Action Needed

The Rotary Clubs of Edmonton Sunrise and Edmonton Mayfield have joined forces to draft a proposal for Collaborative Fundraising, which outlines potential events and strategies.Please review the proposal HERE. 

Maureen has asked that all members take just a few minutes to respond to these questions, even if your response is that you are not able to participate. This will be important moving forward to determine our next steps:

1. Would you like to see a “Fork It Over” or “Planes, Trains and Auctionable” type event annually or bi-annually? Why? What concerns would you like to share?
2. Of the four options proposed, which ones would you be prepared to support by helping on the planning committee, inviting participants, buying tickets and/or sourcing auction items?
3. Are there any ideas listed under Types of Auctions, Complimentary Tasting Experiences and Out-of-the-box Ideas that you think we should explore further?
4. I am not able to Participate.
