We are thrilled to announce that applications are now open for our Rotary Impact Challenge. Encourage friends, family, and colleagues with outstanding projects to participate in this exciting opportunity.
We're gearing up for Jean Jacques (JJ) Mitakaro's induction at the District Fireside Chat scheduled for February 5th!
Next Business Meeting
Our upcoming business meeting is set for January 17th, 2024, featuring Rose's classification talk, where she'll share insights into her remarkable journey.
Rose (Rosalea) Elliot has three degrees from the University of Alberta. Although she grew up, lived and worked in northern Alberta for about forty-five years, she moved to Edmonton in 2006 where her latest work was teaching English to Newcomers to Canada. Previous to joining the Mayfield Rotary club, Rose has been connected with Rotary: her daughter went on a Rotary Exchange; she hosted a Rotary exchange student; she participated in a Rotary project in Belize providing professional development for elementary school teachers. Rose continues to be interested in any Rotary literacy projects. A fun fact about Rose is that she was a volunteer certified ski and snowboard instructor when she lived in Manning and in Fairview. Rose still likes to hike in the mountains.
Zoom login for the meeting is Meeting ID 780 222 3440 Passcode Mayfield

Exclusive Invitation: A Cinematic Morning with SantaYEG on January 20th!
We're excited to share an invitation from one of the charities we support, SantaYEG, led by Jeff Tetz! Jeff has extended a warm welcome to our Rotary club, along with our families and friends, for a special event. Here are the details straight from Jeff:
"We rented out the downtown Landmark Cinema to show a really cool movie about a 1930’s rowing team that rose out of poverty in the depression to win Olympic gold.
There’s a ton of parallels and lessons to building a great business team. It’s called Boys in the Boat directed by George Clooney.
The movie is compliments of Results, and you can bring a few people too. It’s Saturday morning of Jan 20."
